Applied Nostalgia Exhibition in Ljubljana

 Posted on October 4, 2021

This past summer my colleague Nemanja Pancic and I “swapped” cities – I spent a week in Belgrade and Nemanja in Ljubljana.

Currently and up to November 1st 2021 there are some of otherwise many photographs taken on this occasion on show at Galusovo nabrežje in Ljubljana. The exhibition “Applied Nostalgia” was curated by Dragan Kujundzic on behalf of the project initiator, the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia.

Thank you also to the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Belgrade for the recommendation and the friendly reception.

Photography Workshop at the Summer school of Visual Ethnography

I am sharing some visual snapshots from a recent photography workshop I lead between July 5-11 2021, which was part of the Summer school of Visual Ethnography at ZRC SAZU.

It was a great, although, of course, very intense experience for students and mentor(s), but in a week interesting and good photographic stories were created!

ISTANBUL, TURKEY

In the Atrium of the ZRC (Novi trg 2, 1000 Ljubljana), my photographic exhibition entitled Istanbul, Faces of Freedom will be on display between 20 April to 16 May 2021.

As an integral part of the Freedom of Metropolis project, TRANS MAKING (European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 734855), which questions the freedom of urban, metropolitan life, the present exhibition also wishes to draw attention to changes in urban spaces.

You are kindly invited to visit every working day between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Art Book TRUBARJEVA

 Posted on January 30, 2020

The art book Trubarjeva, Expressions of A Street in Transition, offers an intimate and anecdotal look at Trubarjeva street and the special life that has grown out of it over the decades, even centuries. The authors explore this unique street in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana through different artistic approaches and practices – through writing, photography, architectural sketches, collage and graphic design. An array of people’s stories as well as other verbal and visual testimonials are all interwoven to create this thoughtful and compelling – and visually flamboyant – publication.
