Video narrative on Concentration camp RAB

 Posted on September 5, 2020

Remembering makes us more human. Along the 77th anniversary of the liberation of the former Italian fascist camp Kampor on the island of Rab, APIS Institute’s team, which I am part of, created a video narrative about the evil of Mussolini’s fascism in five languages.

I was using my photographs, animating them, adding archival photographs, text written by colleagues Saša Petejan and dr. Urška Strle, as well as sound, composed by Ali R. Taha,  into the video, which you are kindly invited to see on the links bellow.

Art Book TRUBARJEVA

 Posted on January 30, 2020

The art book Trubarjeva, Expressions of A Street in Transition, offers an intimate and anecdotal look at Trubarjeva street and the special life that has grown out of it over the decades, even centuries. The authors explore this unique street in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana through different artistic approaches and practices – through writing, photography, architectural sketches, collage and graphic design. An array of people’s stories as well as other verbal and visual testimonials are all interwoven to create this thoughtful and compelling – and visually flamboyant – publication.

End of the Multivizija project with the interactive multimedia show All that I Am and the exhibition at the House of Multivizija in Rakova jelša

 Posted on January 19, 2020

In 2019 I have participated as a mentor of the photographic module and as part of the Institute APIS team in the MULTIVIZIJA Project: multimedia, theatre and dance training for Vulnerable groups, that is carried out by the APIS Institute and a partner consortium.

The primary objective of the project is to train members of vulnerable social groups ( (over 50) – especially people with mobility disabilities, refugees and immigrants, in the fields of photography, video, sound, dance and theatrical play, with an emphasis on the Theater of the Oppressed. The starting point of the project encourages “artistic expressions” that thematise patterns of stigmatisation due to differentness and related victimisation as a form of exploring different options, how to use the art form as a tool of empowerment, a tool for acquiring new knowledge for higher employability, a tool for mobilising, motivating and promoting the proactive action of vulnerable groups.

You can read more about the performance and its additional program HERE.

During the guided tour of the Multivizija project works in the Multivizija House in Rakova jelša, Ljubljana.

Last Witnesses on show in Rijeka

 Posted on September 16, 2019

Hosted as part of the Rijeka 2020, European Capital of Culture programme, the photographic-documentary exhibition Last Witnesses contributes to the preservation of the historical memory of internment in Italian fascist camps for the sixth consecutive year. The guests at the opening will be last living witnesses of the internment in years 1942 and 1943.

The Croatian exhibition opening is announced on September 14, 2019 at the Principij Gallery in Rijeka. The focus of the exhibition is on the survivors, their relatives and friends from Slovenia and the purpose is to try and  breake through a politically induced historic amnesia.

You can view the project, which was also published in a book form in 2016, through its web site: www.guardiansofthespoon.com
